SoftPedia is reporting that the well known Eudora email client will be open sourced in the next release due out in 2007. It will be using the Mozilla Thunderbird platform as the basis forfuture versions, leveraging the render and cross platform support within Thunderbird.
This is an interesting move from an established veteran of the online software market, considering Eudora has now stated it will not be commercialising their existing product line.
