The upcoming licence revision, version 3, of General Public Licence (GPL) is causing a bit of discussion within the community.
The Godfather (Linus) isn't at all keen on it for its stance against digital rights management technologies. Naturally, with everyone divided on the subject, when someone like Simon Phipps (the Godfather of Open Source @ Sun) pops in his blog that Sun isn't against GPL3 and was encouraged by its progress then its gets the community talking once again.
One thing is for sure, never before has a licence revision gotton so much public scrinity.
