Guess what day it is? Kim chalks up one more

posted Sun 13 Nov 05

As part of my blog routine, I was checking the referer logs of this blog and discovered a strange jump in the number of hits coming from Google of people searching for "kim polese birthday".   Doing a little digging I soon discovered that today is indeed the day Ms Polese came into this world.  I couldn't let the day slip without any sort of fanfare!  Therefore as a mark for this day, let me offer an alternative to the traditional "happy-birthday" song ...

Queen Of The Open Testing
[to the tune of "Queen Of The Silver Dollar"]

She arrives in all her splendor,
Each morning, at nine o'clock
Her chariot is the Toyota Prius,
That hums right down the block,
Now her old blackberry phone, plays her tune as she walks in
And the Queen of The Open Testing is back at work again

She's the Queen of the Open Testing
She rules this open kingdom
Scepter is a StarBucks and an office chair is her throne
Now the coders flock around her, trying to pass their unit tests
To see which one will make the claim,
of highest code coverage done

Now her royal dress is a Gucci suit,
It's sharp and very powerful
The royal jewels are CD ROMs,
and the code is all her own.
Of the many classes she's developed,
And the problems she has seen,
Well they all look at her and say "Please Test my code"!

Now the Queen of the Open Testing
Is not as corporate as she seems
She was once an ordinary java girl, with ordinary dreams,
But there's a man who found her and won her
And he brought her to SpikeSource
He's the one who made a queen of a simple developer girl

Yes she's the Queen of the Open Testing
She rules this Spiked kingdom
Scepter is a StarBucks and a chair is her throne
Now the coders flock around her trying to win her favors
To see which one will make the claim,
of highest code coverage done
