Linux.com has a good overview of one of the simplest ways to do load balancing using the command line 'balance' utility. Its a very simple and extremely quick way of getting a rudimentary load balance system. Sometimes, we can over engineer a solution.

Novell are continuing to make big strides into China, with a new R&D facility to be opened in Beijing by the end of the year. According to a recent IDC study, Novell have 32% market share of the Linux space, and are well poised to increase that as it developers portals specifically in Chinese to help and increase local adoption.

TheServerSide reports on ServiceMix being released. ServiceMix includes a complete JBI container including the Normalised Message Service and Router, the JBI Management MBeans support for JBI deployment units and Ant tasks to install components and manage the container.

Finally, it would appear that L'Oreal thinks you're not worth it after all. The UK Advertising Standards Authority has banned their adverts for anti-aging cream until they can prove with hard evidence they actually work. [sorry gal's, it isn't going to happen, time to look at something else]

Novell is to open a Linux research and development center in Beijing by the end of this year, according to a company spokesman. The center will focus on three main areas: Linux on the desktop, international and localization issues and high-performance computing Linux including carrier-grade Linux, he said.
